Lindisfarne: Fog on the Tyne [Elektra, 1972]
This went number one in England--they're getting so stuck up over there they're even growing their own simpletons. The melodies throw a hook now and again, and the harmonies are tarter than CSNY's--that deep-seated modal tradition, y'know. But though they complain in "City Song" that "your music"--by which they mean our music, fellow urbanites--"it doesn't speak, it swears," their own lyrics aren't worth mumbling.
